We also continue to develop our network of local law firms across African jurisdictions, and we continue to work alongside our ‘best friend’ firms across the continent. For us, expansion into a well-developed market and the opportunity to support clients across a variety of territories is vital, and this makes Africa our focal point.
Africa plays a large part in our long-term strategy, and we can certainly be included in the group of companies expanding into the continent. In fact, in April this year we successfully opened our office in Casablanca, Morocco. Opening in Morocco was a major milestone for our firm, and it meant having a third office in Africa, with two already established in Egypt (Cairo and Port Said). We also continue to develop our network of local law firms across African jurisdictions, and we continue to work alongside our ‘best friend’ firms across the continent. For us, expansion into a well-developed market and the opportunity to support clients across a variety of territories is vital, and this makes Africa our focal point.
In this issue our experts on Africa from across the region explore a number of pertinent themes that impact doing business on the continent. Articles included provide a look into; the opportunities for investors in the healthcare sector, climate change in Egypt, and we provide insights on employment law in the MAGHREB region. Our lawyers have also produced an article on the resolution of cross-border trade, investment, and commercial disputes in the African Continental Free Trade Area (“AfCFTA”). On the same subject we include an interview with Louis Afful, Group Executive Director of AfCFTA policy network in Ghana. Mr Afful discussed with us the latest AfCFTA developments and what we should expect in the future. This is only a snapshot of what you can expect from our focus on Africa, there are plenty more informative articles included that bring you up to speed on the legal and commercial landscape in Africa.
