Temidayo Odutokun was born in Zaria, Nigeria in November 1986, to an artist father and a mother in the literary arts. She is a visual artist, writer, poet and photographer. Her interests were tuned to the visual and literary arts from an early age.
Temidayo attended the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she specialised in painting, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, and a Masters Degree in Art History, at the Zaria Art School.
Raised in a university community, the artist experienced long term stability of location which helped keep her rooted in times of change. This served as a steady board to bounce off from, into life experiences within and out of her familiar social contexts. It reflects in her drawings and paintings as a perceptible quest for harmony in line (especially), in colour, space awareness and other elements. Through her art, she seeks to bring to light the beauty in a well rounded story of everyday people. Her works often focus more on human subjects than environment or are sometimes a fused interplay of both.
Over the last 10 years, Temidayo worked as a curator with the National Gallery of Art, Kaduna, Nigeria.
