Welcome to our Law Update Education 2023 edition.
School and college doors have flung open for the next academic year with the overall sentiment in the region continuing to be positive with bumper enrolment figures. There remains strong international interest in the MENA education market. The last year saw strong M+A activity as well as interest for greenfield developments across the region.
In this edition, we took a wide lens approach to explore a number of diverse topics within the sector. Our corporate team explores the topic of cross-border expansion in the UAE higher education sector. In the same vein our colleagues in Bahrain examine academic collaboration agreements in higher education, identifying general issues that apply across the board. We also take a look at the education market in Saudi Arabia.
Our digital & data team looks at the rise of AI in the education industry. The employment team looks at the impact of the recent Emiratisation push in K-12. Our Qatar colleagues provide an overview of the K-12 and higher education market there including looking at the role of PPP.
