Law Update: Issue 367 - Saudi Arabia & Competition Focus
In this edition we bring you two focus sections, the first spotlights the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is widely recognized as one of the largest and most progressive economies in the world. As a firm, we have been operating in Saudi Arabia for over 15 years, and it is a key market for us. The Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030 is a framework that is responsible for transforming the country at an unprecedented pace across multiple sectors, including healthcare, education, tourism, and technology. The Vision 2030 plan aims to diversify the economy, reduce its dependence on oil, and create new opportunities for businesses and investors. This transformation is underpinned by the significant changes taking place across the Saudi Arabian regulatory landscape.
The second focus of this edition centers on competition law across the Middle East and North Africa. Competition law is a crucial aspect of any robust and vibrant legal system, and it plays a pivotal role in promoting fair competition, protecting consumers, and creating a level playing field for businesses. With the increasing focus on economic diversification and growth across the region, competition law has become even more crucial in ensuring a competitive and transparent business environment.
Throughout the pages of our two focuses our lawyer provides a unique and in-depth analysis of the regulatory updates and changes currently taking place and their implications for businesses.
Outside of the focus sections, there are articles providing you with insights on; construction and real estate in Abu Dhabi, safeguarding digital wealth, enforcing foreign arbitral awards in Oman, and an update on navigating customs regulations for temporary admission at UAE events. As always, in the final section of this edition, we share a roundup of real-life judgments that provide context to the legal landscape across the region.
