Welcome to this
month’s Law Update
This year we have shared content with you that provides insights into specific sectors that are at the forefront of the regions bid to diversify its economies. So far, we have covered real estate, retail, healthcare, TMT, and financial services. Each of these sectors has been on a journey that has tested and challenged them. For me what has shone through is their resilience, the ability to push ahead, and maintain a positive trajectory.
This Law Update focuses on Education, another sector that has demonstrated the ability to push ahead during challenging times. Looking back at the last few years, I have to pay tribute to how the sector adapted during the pandemic by shifting to an online learning model. It showed us what is possible if you remain agile and embrace innovation.
It goes without saying, Education is important not only from a business perspective, but also for the development of our societies. Across the region this sector has come a long way, its progress has resulted in a growing number of nationals, residents and international students making the region an educational hub. What has contributed to this steady evolution? - I would point to the initiatives and support put in place by the regions Governments, which has caught the attention of the private sector. As a result, we have seen a large volume of public, private, and international partnerships developing across the region. For example, we are seeing markets such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia attract international attention from educational operators. This type of activity can only help the entire region advance its Education offer.
